Stats & Training
The stat budget goes to damage. Attack and Speed carry the offense, HP doesn't even come close. A Triple Bird Pokemon on a medium-fast 1M XP curve, worth 2 Attack stat exp per KO.
One of DODUO’s 2 heads splits to form a unique species. It runs close to 40 MPH in prairies.
Dodrio Weakness
Electric, Ice, and Rock moves hit Dodrio for super-effective damage. The upside? Ground and Ghost-type moves can't touch it at all. At base 100 Speed, Dodrio outspeeds most threats and doesn't need to tank what it can outrun.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Electric, Ice, Rock |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Grass, Bug |
| 0x (Immune) | Ground, Ghost |
- Only 15 types exist — Dark, Steel, and Fairy are absent
- Ghost has no effect on Psychic (a known bug, fixed in Gen II)
- Special stat governs both offense and defense — no Sp.Atk / Sp.Def split

Dodrio Guide
For Yellow, we rate Dodrio C-Tier: a niche pick in Yellow's meta. At 460 BST, it fits the setup sweeper role. Drill Peck anchors the moveset.
In Yellow, watch for Raikou (Electric), Lapras (Ice), and Aerodactyl (Rock) when using Dodrio. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Dodrio's base 100 Speed lets it outpace many threats and strike first, which matters more than trying to tank hits.
Base 100 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Dodrio is a physical attacker with base 110 Attack. Best used as a setup sweeper.
In Yellow, run Drill Peck, Hyper Beam, Body Slam, and Agility on Dodrio. Drill Peck is the most common pick at 25% usage. Agility lets it set up before sweeping.
For Yellow, Dodrio has answers, but so do you. Priority moves (Mach Punch, Aqua Jet, Ice Shard) bypass its speed. Bulky walls that resist its STAB also shut it down.
