Crawdaunt Weakness

Type-wise, Crawdaunt takes extra damage from Electric, Grass, Fighting, and Bug. Psychic moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. 6 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. Crawdaunt's physical bulk (base 85 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

Platinum Crawdaunt Best Moveset

Prediction matters here. Choice Scarf means Crawdaunt can't change moves after clicking, but the payoff is speed patching through item lock. Max Attack and Speed EVs with Hypercutter back that up. Fighting coverage prevents free switches.

Breeding's the move. Ancient Power and Body Slam give Crawdaunt options it can't learn any other way, and coverage across 9 types already covers a decent range on top of Crabhammer and Surf. The egg moves push it further.

Crawdaunt Guide

  • In Platinum, Run Adaptability on Crawdaunt. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Crawdaunt also gets Hyper Cutter and Shell Armor, but they don't compare.

  • In Platinum, Crawdaunt fills the cannon role. It's a physical attacker with base 120 Attack. At base 55 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • For Platinum, the core moveset is Crunch, Waterfall, Superpower, and Xscissor. Crunch leads at 19% usage. Crunch provides reliable STAB damage.
