Corsola Guide
In Gold & Silver, Corsola isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Cursola to unlock its full potential. At 390 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
In Gold & Silver, Corsola's biggest threats include Venusaur (Grass), Jolteon (Electric), and Hitmonlee (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Venusaur is the most dangerous since Grass moves deal 4x damage. Ground-type attackers are also a problem. At base 35 Speed, Corsola won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
In Gold & Silver, Corsola fills the support role. It's a mixed attacker with base 55 Attack and 65 Sp. Atk. Base 35 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Gold & Silver, Corsola does the job early-game if you need a Water/Rock type on your team. Evolve it into Cursola before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.
Corsola evolves into Cursola at level 38. Takes some grinding. Plan your team around the mid-game wait.
Game Availability
Corsola first appeared in Gold & Silver and spans 17 games across 9 generations. It later gained a Galarian form in Generation 8, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
