Stats & Training
Raw Attack carries Braviary's bulk more than the defenses do. Sp. Atk barely registers. But that HP pool covers for it. A moderately hard to find Valiant Pokemon that yields 2 Attack EVs on a slow 1.25M XP grind.
For the sake of its friends, this brave warrior of the sky will not stop battling, even if injured.
They fight for their friends without any thought about danger to themselves. One can carry a car while flying.
Braviary Weakness
Braviary is weak to Electric, Ice, and Rock. On the flip side, it's immune to Ground and Ghost-type moves entirely. With 100 HP and balanced defenses, Braviary can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Electric, Ice, Rock |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Grass, Bug |
| 0x (Immune) | Ground, Ghost |
In X & Y, Weavile's Ice Shard hits Braviary for 59-69%. Zapdos's Thunderbolt hits Braviary for 74-88%. Tyranitar's Stone Edge also KOs at 130-153%.

X & Y Braviary Best Moveset
Bravebird is the safe click most turns. Choice Scarf locks Braviary into it but rewards with speed patching through item lock. Adamant nature and max HP and Attack EVs maximize that first hit. Defiant helps on the margins.

Braviary Guide
In X & Y, Sheer Force changes the entire equation for Braviary. The 510 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a wallbreaker. Bravebird with Choice Scarf is the standard set.
Sheer Force is what you want on Braviary. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Keen Eye, Defiant) work on paper but Sheer Force is what makes Braviary worth using.
Base 80 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Braviary is a physical attacker with base 123 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a wallbreaker.
In X & Y, the best way to handle Braviary: Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Special attackers bypass its physical bulk.
Game Availability
Since debuting in Black & White, Braviary has appeared in 9 titles over 6 generations. Along the way, it received a Hisuian form in Generation 8, keeping it relevant across different competitive metas.
