Stats & Training

Raw Attack carries Braviary's bulk more than the defenses do. Sp. Atk barely registers. But that HP pool covers for it. A moderately hard to find Valiant Pokemon that yields 2 Attack EVs on a slow 1.25M XP grind.

Braviary Weakness

Braviary is weak to Electric, Ice, and Rock. On the flip side, it's immune to Ground and Ghost-type moves entirely. With 100 HP and balanced defenses, Braviary can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

Sword & Shield Braviary Best Moveset

For a physical attacker, Braviary wants max Attack and Speed EVs and Safetygoggles. The Jolly nature tilts toward fast physical duty, and Sheerforce contributes without taking a move slot.

TMs carry this one. Braviary learns Giga Impact and Hyper Beam naturally for STAB, but the offensive range comes almost entirely from technical machines. Fighting and Dark and beyond give it real matchup play.

Braviary Guide

  • In Sword & Shield, Sheer Force changes the entire equation for Braviary. The 510 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a wallbreaker. Close Combat with Safetygoggles is the standard set.

  • In Sword & Shield, Braviary's biggest threats include Jolteon (Electric), Kyurem (Ice), and Golem (Rock), all carrying super-effective STAB moves.

  • Sheer Force is what you want on Braviary. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Keen Eye, Defiant) work on paper but Sheer Force is what makes Braviary worth using.

  • Base 80 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Braviary is a physical attacker with base 123 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a wallbreaker.

  • For Sword & Shield, the core moveset is Close Combat, Bravebird, Facade, and Rock Slide. Close Combat leads at 25% usage. Facade provides reliable STAB damage.

Game Availability

Since debuting in Black & White, Braviary has appeared in 9 titles over 6 generations. Along the way, it received a Hisuian form in Generation 8, keeping it relevant across different competitive metas.
