Stoutland Black & White Guide

  • In Black & White, Intimidate changes the entire equation for Stoutland. The 490 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as an attacker. Return with Choice Band is the standard set.

  • In Black & White, Stoutland's biggest threats include Lucario (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Intimidate is what you want on Stoutland. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Sand Rush, Scrappy) work on paper but Intimidate is what makes Stoutland worth using.

  • Base 80 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Stoutland is a physical attacker with base 100 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as an attacker.

  • For Black & White, the core moveset is Return, Crunch, Superpower, and Facade. Return leads at 0% usage. Return provides reliable STAB damage.

Game Availability

Stoutland joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 7 titles so far. With 6 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
