Stats & Training
Everything pushes toward mixed damage here. Victreebel's Attack does the work, Defense pays the price. But you're still getting 3 Attack EVs per KO. Tough to catch, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
Victreebel has a long vine that extends from its head. This vine is waved and flicked about as if it were an animal to attract prey. When an unsuspecting prey draws near, this Pokémon swallows it whole.

Victreebel Weakness
Victreebel's Grass/Poison typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Ice, Flying, and Psychic. The Grass/Poison typing picks up 5 resistances to work with.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Ice, Flying, Psychic |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Water, Electric, Fighting, Fairy |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Grass |
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Weavile's Ice Shard hits Victreebel for 65-76%. Zapdos deals 71-84% with Heat Wave.

Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Victreebel Best Moveset
One guaranteed turn is all Victreebel needs. Focus Sash buys it, spread EVs make it count, and Chlorophyll adds something extra. The goal: deal early damage and deal damage with Weatherball. Utility options gives it play beyond just the lead turn.

How to Get Victreebel in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
Victreebel can't be caught in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. Transfer Bellsprout from Blue, Yellow, or LeafGreen and evolve through the 3-stage chain to get it. The step cards below map the full chain.
Victreebel Guide
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Victreebel looks average on paper at 490 BST. But Chlorophyll is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier setup sweeper on our tier list. Weatherball with Focus Sash is the standard set.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, watch for Arcanine (Fire), Lapras (Ice), and Aerodactyl (Flying) when using Victreebel. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Psychic-type attackers are also a problem.
Victreebel gets Chlorophyll and Gluttony. But Chlorophyll is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
Victreebel is leaning toward the physical side (base 105 Attack). Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 70 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. Fits the setup sweeper role.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, run Weatherball, Solarbeam, Toxic, and Sludge Bomb on Victreebel. Weatherball is the most common pick at 25% usage. This set covers the setup sweeper role with a mix of damage and utility.
