Stats & Training
Sp. Atk and Sp. Def carry most of Vanillish's stat budget. HP's the obvious dump stat. Common in the wild and yields 2 Sp. Atk EVs. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
It sprays its enemies with grains of ice to freeze them. Most Vanillish in Alola are smaller than average.
This hearty Pokémon survived the Ice Age. It’s incredibly popular in very hot regions.

Vanillish Guide
Vanillish is meant to evolve into Vanilluxe. At 395 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, watch for Infernape (Fire), Conkeldurr (Fighting), and Golem (Rock) when using Vanillish. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Steel-type attackers are also a problem.
Ice Body heals for 1/16 max HP after each turn during hail. That's the one you want on Vanillish. Weak Armor is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Snow Cloak works too if your team needs something different.
At base 59 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Vanillish is a special attacker with base 80 Sp. Atk.
Game Availability
Vanillish joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 8 titles so far. With 6 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
