Vanillish Guide

  • Vanillish is meant to evolve into Vanilluxe. At 395 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.

  • In Black 2 & White 2, watch for Infernape (Fire), Conkeldurr (Fighting), and Golem (Rock) when using Vanillish. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Steel-type attackers are also a problem.

  • In Black 2 & White 2, Vanillite evolves into Vanillish at level 35. Vanillish evolves into Vanilluxe at level 47. Vanillish is a middle-stage evolution in the Vanillite line.

  • Ice Body heals for 1/16 max HP after each turn during hail. That's the one you want on Vanillish. Weak Armor is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Snow Cloak works too if your team needs something different.

  • At base 59 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Vanillish is a special attacker with base 80 Sp. Atk.

Game Availability

Vanillish joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 8 titles so far. With 6 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
