Stats & Training
Attack and Defense carry most of Tyrantrum's stat budget. Sp. Def's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 2 Attack EVs. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
This Pokémon is from about 100,000,000 years ago. It has the presence of a king, vicious but magnificent.
A single bite of Tyrantrum’s massive jaws will demolish a car. This Pokémon was the king of the ancient world.
Tyrantrum Weakness
Ice, Fighting, Ground, Dragon, Steel, and Fairy moves hit Tyrantrum for super-effective damage. 5 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Tyrantrum's physical bulk (base 119 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Ice, Fighting, Ground, Dragon, Steel, Fairy |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Normal, Electric, Poison, Flying |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Fire |
In Sword & Shield, Excadrill threatens a KO with Earthquake (96-113%). Garchomp's Earthquake also KOs at 93-110%.

How to Evolve
Sword & Shield Tyrantrum Best Moveset
Prediction matters here. Choice Scarf means Tyrantrum can't change moves after clicking, but the payoff is speed patching through item lock. Max Attack and Speed EVs with Rockhead back that up. The remaining moves prevents free switches.

Tyrantrum Guide
In Sword & Shield, Strong Jaw changes the entire equation for Tyrantrum. The 521 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a wallbreaker. Outrage with Choice Scarf is the standard set.
Strong Jaw is what you want on Tyrantrum. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Rock Head) work on paper but Strong Jaw is what makes Tyrantrum worth using. On wall sets, Strong Jaw pairs with Tyrantrum's base 119 Defense to absorb physical hits on the switch.
Base 71 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Tyrantrum is a physical attacker with base 121 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a wallbreaker.
For Sword & Shield, Tyrantrum has answers, but so do you. Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Special attackers bypass its physical bulk.
