How to Get Typhlosion in Black & White
No wild encounters for Typhlosion in Black & White. Bring Cyndaquil over from Gold, Crystal, or Legends: Arceus, then level through the stages. Each step in the chain is laid out below.
Typhlosion Guide
In Black & White, Flash Fire changes the entire equation for Typhlosion. The 534 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a sweeper. Fire Blast with Choice Scarf is the standard set.
Flash Fire is what you want on Typhlosion. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Blaze) work on paper but Flash Fire is what makes Typhlosion worth using. With base 100 Speed, Flash Fire gives Typhlosion an edge before opponents can react.
Base 100 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Typhlosion is a mixed attacker with base 84 Attack and 109 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a sweeper.
In Black & White, Typhlosion's hidden ability is Flash Fire. Protects against fire moves. Better than the standard options for competitive play.
Game Availability
Since debuting in Gold & Silver, Typhlosion has appeared in 17 titles over 9 generations. Along the way, it received a Hisuian form in Generation 8, keeping it relevant across different competitive metas.
