Stats & Training
The stat line revolves around HP. Percentage recovery gets extra mileage here. Attack backs it up, though Sp. Def doesn't pull its weight. Worth 3 Attack EVs on a slow 1.25M XP grind to max out.
It is said to live in another world. The intense light it radiates from the surface of its body can make the darkest of nights light up like midday.
This Pokémon is said to be a male evolution of Cosmog. At the activation of its third eye, it departs for another world.
Solgaleo Weakness
Solgaleo's Psychic/Steel typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Ground, Ghost, and Dark. It shrugs off Poison-type attacks completely. It resists 9 types, so it can switch into a lot of moves safely. Solgaleo's overall bulk (137/107/89) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

How to Get Solgaleo in Sun & Moon
Solgaleo is a fixed encounter, not a random spawn. Walk up to it, interact, and the battle starts immediately. Head to Altar of the Sunne when your team is ready for the fight.
How to Obtain Solgaleo in Sun & Moon
The path to Solgaleo starts with Cosmog at Lv. 5-55 via gift encounters. 2 catchable stages total, with locations listed for each one below.
Solgaleo Guide
For the Sun & Moon meta, At 680 BST, Solgaleo is built different. We rank it S-Tier. As a Legendary Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a wallbreaker.
In Sun & Moon, watch for Arcanine (Fire), Golem (Ground), and Chandelure (Ghost) when using Solgaleo. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Dark-type attackers are also a problem. Solgaleo has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Full Metal Body other Pokémon cannot lower this Pokémon's stats. That's the one you want on Solgaleo. It's the only ability Solgaleo has.
Solgaleo is a physical attacker with base 137 Attack. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 97 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. Fits the wallbreaker role.
For Sun & Moon, Solgaleo has answers, but so do you. Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Special attackers bypass its physical bulk.
Game Availability
Since Sun & Moon, Solgaleo has appeared in 4 games. Legendary Pokemon like Solgaleo are usually found through story events or special post-game areas rather than random encounters.
