It increases the power of its punches by vibrating the bumps on its fists. It can turn a boulder to rubble with one punch.

Seismitoad Weakness

Grass moves hit Seismitoad for super-effective damage. Grass hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Electric-type moves can't touch it at all. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Water Absorb grants an additional Water immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. With 105 HP and balanced defenses, Seismitoad can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

Seismitoad Guide

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Don't let Seismitoad's 509 base stat total fool you. Swift Swim is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier. Hydro Pump with Quickclaw is the standard set.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, watch for Exeggutor (Grass) when using Seismitoad. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Exeggutor is the most dangerous since Grass moves deal 4x damage. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Run Swift Swim on Seismitoad. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Seismitoad also gets Poison Touch and Water Absorb, but they don't compare.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Seismitoad fills the balanced role. It's a mixed attacker with base 95 Attack and 85 Sp. Atk. Base 74 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, run Hydro Pump, Sludge Bomb, Earthquake, and Drain Punch on Seismitoad. Hydro Pump is the most common pick at 25% usage. Earthquake provides reliable STAB damage.

Game Availability

Introduced in Black & White, Seismitoad has appeared in 8 games across 6 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
