Registeel Guide

  • For the HeartGold & SoulSilver meta, At 580 BST, Registeel is built different. We rank it B-Tier. As a Legendary Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a wall. Thunder Wave with Leftovers is the standard set.

  • In HeartGold & SoulSilver, watch for Arcanine (Fire), Blaziken (Fighting), and Golem (Ground) when using Registeel. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Registeel has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.

  • Clear Body prevents stats from being lowered by other Pokémon. That's the one you want on Registeel. Light Metal is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.

  • Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Registeel is a physical attacker with base 75 Attack. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a wall.

  • For HeartGold & SoulSilver, Registeel has answers, but so do you. Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Physical attackers can break through.
