Pelipper Weakness

Pelipper's Water/Flying typing leaves it vulnerable to Electric and Rock. Electric hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. It shrugs off Ground-type attacks completely. It resists 5 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Pelipper's physical bulk (base 100 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

Platinum Pelipper Best Moveset

Keeneye isn't flashy, but it matters. Combined with Life Orb for extra damage on every hit for a health trade and flexible EVs, Pelipper fills the special attacker slot reliably. Modest nature finishes the spread.

Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Pelipper won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 11 types means it always has an effective option. Hydro Pump and Fly anchor the STAB core.

Pelipper Guide

  • In Platinum, watch for Jolteon (Electric) and Golem (Rock) when using Pelipper. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Jolteon is the most dangerous since Electric moves deal 4x damage. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • In Platinum, Wingull evolves into Pelipper at level 25. Pelipper is the fully evolved form. It sits at 440 BST in its evolved form.

  • For Platinum, it depends on your team. Pelipper at 440 BST isn't a powerhouse, but the Water/Flying coverage might be exactly what you're missing.

  • In Platinum, Don't let Pelipper's 440 base stat total fool you. Drizzle is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier as a support. Surf with Life Orb is the standard set.

  • In Platinum, Run Drizzle on Pelipper. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Pelipper also gets Keen Eye and Rain Dish, but they don't compare.

Game Availability

Pelipper first appeared in Ruby & Sapphire and has been available in 16 games across 8 generations. Obtainable through wild encounters in most titles where it appears.
