Miltank produces highly nutritious milk, so it’s been supporting the lives of people and other Pokémon since ancient times.

Miltank Weakness

Fighting moves hit Miltank for super-effective damage. The upside? Ghost-type moves can't touch it at all. Thick Fat reduces Fire/Ice damage, further improving the defensive spread. Miltank's physical bulk (base 105 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

Miltank Guide

  • In Sword & Shield, Sap Sipper changes the entire equation for Miltank. The 490 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a pivot. Steelroller with Muscleband is the standard set.

  • In Sword & Shield, watch for Hitmonlee (Fighting) when using Miltank. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Sap Sipper is what you want on Miltank. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Thick Fat, Scrappy) work on paper but Sap Sipper is what makes Miltank worth using.

  • Base 100 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Miltank is a physical attacker with base 80 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a pivot.

  • In Sword & Shield, run Steelroller, Facade, Play Rough, and Icepunch on Miltank. Steelroller is the most common pick at 16% usage. Facade provides reliable STAB damage.

Game Availability

Available in 16 titles since its debut in Gold & Silver, Miltank spans 9 generations of Pokemon games. It's accessible through wild encounters in most mainline games.
