In Sword & Shield, Contrary changes the entire equation for Lurantis. The 480 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked B-Tier as an attacker. Superpower with Leftovers is the standard set.
Contrary is what you want on Lurantis. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Leaf Guard) work on paper but Contrary is what makes Lurantis worth using.
Base 45 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Lurantis is a physical attacker with base 105 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as an attacker.
For Sword & Shield, the core moveset is Superpower, Leechlife, Leafblade, and Protect. Superpower leads at 25% usage. This set covers the attacker role with a mix of damage and utility.
