Stats & Training
Defense and Attack carry most of Kommo-o's stat budget. HP's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 3 Defense EVs. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
When it howls after finishing off its prey, the metallic sounds of its celebrating comrades can be heard from all around.
It battles valiantly with its fists, which are armored in steel scales. Kommo-o specializes in uppercuts.

Kommo-o Guide
For Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, we rate Kommo-o B-Tier: a solid option in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon for the right team. At 600 BST, it fits the tank role. Clangingscales with Kommoniumz is the standard set.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Kommo-o's biggest threats include Mimikyu (Fairy), Kyurem (Ice), and Talonflame (Flying), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Mimikyu is the most dangerous since Fairy moves deal 4x damage. Psychic and Dragon-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. Kommo-o has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Bulletproof is the go-to ability for Kommo-o. It protects against bullet, ball, and bomb-based moves. Its hidden ability Overcoat can work in specific setups. Soundproof is the other option. Pick based on what your team needs.
Base 85 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Kommo-o is a special attacker with base 100 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a tank.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, the best way to handle Kommo-o: Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Special attackers bypass its physical bulk.
