Stats & Training
Kingler's all-in on Attack at the expense of Sp. Atk. The physical lean is obvious from the bars. Yields 2 Attack stat exp and follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
It can hardly lift its massive, overgrown pincer. The pincer’s size makes it difficult to aim properly.
Its pincers grow peculiarly large. If it lifts the pincers too fast, it loses its balance and staggers.
Kingler Weakness
Kingler's Water typing leaves it vulnerable to Electric and Grass. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Kingler's physical bulk (base 115 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Electric, Grass |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Water, Ice, Steel |
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
- Special stat split into Sp.Atk and Sp.Def

Kingler Guide
In Gold & Silver, Kingler has a 475 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a niche pick in Gold & Silver's meta. It works best as a wallbreaker. Swords Dance with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Gold & Silver, Kingler fills the wallbreaker role. It's a special attacker with base 50 Sp. Atk. Base 75 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Gold & Silver, run Swords Dance, Crabhammer, Double Edge, and Body Slam on Kingler. Swords Dance is the most common pick at 25% usage. Crabhammer provides reliable STAB damage.
For Gold & Silver, Kingler has answers, but so do you. Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Special attackers bypass its physical bulk.
Game Availability
Kingler first appeared in Red & Blue and spans 20 games across 10 generations. It later gained a Gigantamax form in Generation 8, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
