Stats & Training
Hoopa's all-in on Sp. Atk at the expense of Defense. The special lean is obvious from the bars. Yields 3 Sp. Atk EVs and follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
In its true form, it possess a huge amount of power. Legends of its avarice tell how it once carried off an entire castle to gain the treasure hidden within.
It is said to be able to seize anything it desires with its six rings and six huge arms. With its power sealed, it is transformed into a much smaller form.
Hoopa Weakness
Hoopa is weak to Ghost and Dark. Watch out for Ghost and Dark attacks, those deal 4x damage. On the flip side, it's immune to Normal and Fighting-type moves entirely. Hoopa's special bulk (base 130 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Hoopa Guide
In Sun & Moon, Hoopa is a Mythical Pokemon rated B-Tier. At 600 BST, it hits hard. It excels as a wallbreaker. Shadow Ball with Magoberry is the standard set.
Magician is the go-to ability for Hoopa. It steals the target's held item when the bearer uses a damaging move. It's Hoopa's only ability.
In Sun & Moon, Hoopa fills the wallbreaker role. It's leaning toward the special side (base 150 Sp. Atk). Base 70 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
For Sun & Moon, the core moveset is Shadow Ball, Focus Blast, Nasty Plot, and Substitute. Shadow Ball leads at 25% usage. This set covers the wallbreaker role with a mix of damage and utility.
