Hitmontop Guide
In Black 2 & White 2, Don't let Hitmontop's 455 base stat total fool you. Intimidate is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier. Rapid Spin with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Black 2 & White 2, watch for Aerodactyl (Flying) and Starmie (Psychic) when using Hitmontop. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.
In Black 2 & White 2, Run Intimidate on Hitmontop. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Hitmontop also gets Technician and Steadfast, but they don't compare.
In Black 2 & White 2, Hitmontop fills the balanced role. It's leaning toward the physical side (base 95 Attack). Base 70 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Black 2 & White 2, run Rapid Spin, Sucker Punch, Close Combat, and Foresight on Hitmontop. Rapid Spin is the most common pick at 24% usage. This set covers the balanced role with a mix of damage and utility.
