  • For X & Y, we rate Delphox C-Tier: a niche pick in X & Y's meta. At 534 BST, it fits the sweeper role. Psychic with Leftovers is the standard set.

  • In X & Y, Delphox can Mega Evolve into Mega Delphox. That's 634 BST, up from 534. The stat redistribution often changes its best role. Mega Stone required, one per battle.

  • In X & Y, watch for Gyarados (Water), Swampert (Ground), and Tyranitar (Rock) when using Delphox. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Ghost and Dark-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • Blaze strengthens fire moves to inflict 1.5× damage at 1/3 max HP or less. That's the one you want on Delphox. Magician is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.

  • Base 104 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Delphox is a special attacker with base 114 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a sweeper.
