Blaze isn't flashy, but it matters. Combined with Life Orb for extra damage on every hit for a health trade and max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs, Delphox fills the special attacker slot reliably. Timid nature finishes the spread.

In Sun & Moon, Delphox can Mega Evolve into Mega Delphox. That's 634 BST, up from 534. The stat redistribution often changes its best role. Mega Stone required, one per battle.
Blaze strengthens fire moves to inflict 1.5× damage at 1/3 max HP or less. That's the one you want on Delphox. Magician is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.
