Stats & Training
The stat bars tell the story: Defense carries everything and Speed's dead weight. But this Coffin Pokemon still yields 2 Defense EVs per fight on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
This Pokémon has a body of sparkling gold. People say it no longer remembers that it was once human.
There are many depictions of Cofagrigus decorating ancient tombs. They’re symbols of the wealth that kings of bygone eras had.
Cofagrigus Weakness
Cofagrigus's Ghost typing leaves it vulnerable to Ghost and Dark. It shrugs off Normal and Fighting-type attacks completely. Cofagrigus's physical bulk (base 145 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

In Legends: Z-A, Lokix's Sucker Punch hits Cofagrigus for 61-72%. Dragapult's Shadow Ball also KOs at 98-116%.

Legends: Z-A Evolution
Cofagrigus is what Yamask becomes. Breed it for Yamask eggs (average hatch time). A decent partner pool for breeding via two egg groups. Eggs are average hatch time. The evolution from Yamask pushed Cofagrigus to 483 total stats. Defense saw the largest single gain at +60. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Legends: Z-A Cofagrigus Best Moveset
Quiet nature gives Cofagrigus the slow special lean it needs to trade hits effectively. Leftovers adds passive recovery each turn, max Sp. Atk without Speed EVs split the difference, and the remaining moves punishes anything trying to wall it.

The level-up pool is slim, so TMs matter here. Cofagrigus's coverage across 7 types all comes from technical machines, built on top of Phantom Force and Shadow Ball for same-type damage. Phantom Force and Dream Eater are the payoff moves.

How to Get Cofagrigus in Legends: Z-A
Cofagrigus Guide
In Legends: Z-A, Cofagrigus works as a trick room with 483 BST behind it. C-Tier on our list: a niche pick in Legends: Z-A's meta. Trickroom with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Legends: Z-A, watch for Chandelure (Ghost) and Hydreigon (Dark) when using Cofagrigus. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. At base 30 Speed, Cofagrigus won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Mummy changes attacking Pokémon's abilities to Mummy on contact. That's the one you want on Cofagrigus. It's the only ability Cofagrigus has.
Cofagrigus is a special attacker with base 95 Sp. Atk. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 30 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the trick room role.
For Legends: Z-A, Cofagrigus has answers, but so do you. Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Ghost and Dark-type attackers hit hardest.
