Stats & Training
The stat bars tell the story: Defense carries everything and Speed's dead weight. But this Coffin Pokemon still yields 2 Defense EVs per fight on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
Grave robbers who mistake them for real coffins and get too close end up trapped inside their bodies.

Cofagrigus Weakness
Cofagrigus's Ghost typing leaves it vulnerable to Ghost and Dark. It shrugs off Normal and Fighting-type attacks completely. Cofagrigus's physical bulk (base 145 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Ghost, Dark |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Poison, Bug |
| 0x (Immune) | Normal, Fighting |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
In Black 2 & White 2, Hydreigon deals 76-90% with Dark Pulse.

Cofagrigus Guide
In Black 2 & White 2, Cofagrigus works as a trick room with 483 BST behind it. C-Tier on our list: a niche pick in Black 2 & White 2's meta. Shadow Ball with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Black 2 & White 2, watch for Chandelure (Ghost) and Hydreigon (Dark) when using Cofagrigus. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. At base 30 Speed, Cofagrigus won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Mummy changes attacking Pokémon's abilities to Mummy on contact. That's the one you want on Cofagrigus. It's the only ability Cofagrigus has.
Cofagrigus is leaning toward the special side (base 95 Sp. Atk). Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 30 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the trick room role.
For Black 2 & White 2, Cofagrigus has answers, but so do you. Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Ghost and Dark-type attackers hit hardest.
