Beedrill Weakness

Beedrill's Bug/Poison typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Flying, Psychic, and Rock. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Beedrill's special bulk (base 80 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Moves

Without TMs, Beedrill's movepool is bare bones. With them, you get Normal and Dark coverage on top of Sludge Bomb and Fury Cutter for STAB. The natural kit handles basics, but TMs are doing the real work.

Beedrill Guide

  • In Crystal, Beedrill has a 385 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a niche pick in Crystal's meta. It works best as a balanced. Sludge Bomb with Leftovers is the standard set.

  • Mega Evolution isn't available in Crystal, but Beedrill does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Beedrill hits 485 BST.

  • In Crystal, watch for Arcanine (Fire), Dodrio (Flying), and Starmie (Psychic) when using Beedrill. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Rock-type attackers are also a problem.

  • In Crystal, Beedrill fills the balanced role. It's a physical attacker with base 80 Attack. Base 75 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many.

  • In Crystal, run Sludge Bomb, Swords Dance, Substitute, and Hiddenpowerground on Beedrill. Sludge Bomb is the most common pick at 25% usage. This set covers the balanced role with a mix of damage and utility.

Game Availability

Beedrill first appeared in Red & Blue and spans 19 games across 10 generations. It later gained a Mega form in Generation 7, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
