Stats & Training
Beedrill's spread isn't flashy. Attack leads, Defense trails, 2 stats clear the bar. Tough to catch and worth 3 Attack and Sp. Def EVs, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
Its best attack involves flying around at high speed, striking with poison needles, then flying off.

Beedrill Weakness
Beedrill's Bug/Poison typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Flying, Psychic, and Rock. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Beedrill's special bulk (base 80 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Flying, Psychic, Rock |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Poison, Bug |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Grass, Fighting |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
In Black 2 & White 2, Dragonite can KO Beedrill with Outrage (165-195%). Volcarona's Fire Blast also KOs at 165-194%.

How to Evolve
Black 2 & White 2 Beedrill Best Moveset
One guaranteed turn is all Beedrill needs. Focus Sash buys it, max Attack and Speed EVs make it count, and Sniper adds something extra. The goal: deal early damage and deal damage with Drillrun. Normal coverage gives it play beyond just the lead turn.

Moves
Without TMs, Beedrill's movepool is bare bones. With them, you get coverage across 8 types on top of Sludge Bomb and Poison Jab for STAB. The natural kit handles basics, but TMs are doing the real work.

How to Get Beedrill in Black 2 & White 2
Beedrill can't be caught in Black 2 & White 2. Transfer Weedle from Red, Gold, or FireRed and evolve through the 3-stage chain to get it. The step cards below map the full chain.
Beedrill Guide
In Black 2 & White 2, Beedrill has a 385 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a niche pick in Black 2 & White 2's meta. It works best as a balanced. Drillrun with Focus Sash is the standard set.
Mega Evolution isn't available in Black 2 & White 2, but Beedrill does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Beedrill hits 485 BST.
Swarm strengthens bug moves to inflict 1.5× damage at 1/3 max HP or less. That's the one you want on Beedrill. Sniper is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.
In Black 2 & White 2, Beedrill fills the balanced role. It's a physical attacker with base 80 Attack. Base 75 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many.
Game Availability
Beedrill first appeared in Red & Blue and spans 19 games across 10 generations. It later gained a Mega form in Generation 7, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
