Stats & Training
Shuckle's all-in on Defense at the expense of Speed. The mixed lean is obvious from the bars. Yields 2 Defense and Sp. Def stat exp and follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
The fluid secreted by its toes carves holes in rocks for nesting and can be mixed with BERRIES to make a drink.

Shuckle Guide
In Crystal, Shuckle has a 505 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a niche pick in Crystal's meta. It works best as a support. Toxic with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Crystal, watch for Starmie (Water), Aerodactyl (Rock), and Steelix (Steel) when using Shuckle. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. At base 5 Speed, Shuckle won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
In Crystal, Shuckle fills the support role. It's a physical attacker with base 10 Attack. Base 5 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's tanky enough to absorb a few hits.
In Crystal, run Toxic, Rest, Defensecurl, and Encore on Shuckle. Toxic is the most common pick at 23% usage. This set covers the support role with a mix of damage and utility.
For Crystal, Shuckle has answers, but so do you. Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Water, Rock, and Steel-type attackers hit hardest.
