Without TMs, Terrakion's movepool is bare bones. With them, you get Normal and Flying coverage and more on top of Close Combat and Focus Blast for STAB. The natural kit handles basics, but TMs are doing the real work.

Terrakion Guide

  • For the Sun & Moon meta, At 580 BST, Terrakion is built different. We rank it B-Tier. As a Legendary Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a sweeper. Close Combat with Choice Band is the standard set.

  • In Sun & Moon, watch for Milotic (Water), Venusaur (Grass), and Hitmonlee (Fighting) when using Terrakion. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Ground, Psychic, Steel, and Fairy-type attackers are also a problem. With 7 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • Justified raises Attack one stage upon taking damage from a dark move. That's the one you want on Terrakion. It's the only ability Terrakion has.

  • In Sun & Moon, Terrakion fills the sweeper role. It's a physical attacker with base 129 Attack. Base 108 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • In Sun & Moon, run Close Combat, Stone Edge, Earthquake, and Swords Dance on Terrakion. Close Combat is the most common pick at 25% usage. This set covers the sweeper role with a mix of damage and utility.

Game Availability

Terrakion has appeared in 9 games since Black & White, spanning 6 generations. As a Legendary, it's typically a one-per-save encounter tied to the story or post-game content.
