Stats & Training
Talonflame's built around mixed offense. Speed leads the charge, Sp. Def pays for it. Tough to catch, worth 3 Speed EVs. Follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
In the fever of an exciting battle, it showers embers from the gaps between its feathers and takes to the air.
When attacking prey, it can reach speeds of up to 310 mph. It finishes its prey off with a colossal kick.
Talonflame Weakness
Talonflame's Fire/Flying typing leaves it vulnerable to Rock, Water, and Electric. Rock hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. It shrugs off Ground-type attacks completely. 6 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Rock |
| 2x (Weak) | Water, Electric |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Fighting, Steel, Fairy |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Grass, Bug |
| 0x (Immune) | Ground |

Talonflame Guide
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Talonflame has a 499 base stat total and ranks as B-Tier: a solid option in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire for the right team. It works best as a support. Bravebird with Life Orb is the standard set.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, watch for Rhyperior (Rock), Milotic (Water), and Jolteon (Electric) when using Talonflame. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Rhyperior is the most dangerous since Rock moves deal 4x damage. Talonflame's base 126 Speed lets it outpace many threats and strike first, which matters more than trying to tank hits.
Flame Body has a 30% chance of burning attacking Pokémon on contact. That's the one you want on Talonflame. Gale Wings is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Talonflame fills the support role. It's leaning toward the physical side (base 81 Attack). Base 126 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
For Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Talonflame has answers, but so do you. Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Rock, Water, and Electric-type attackers hit hardest.
