Stats & Training
Attack and Defense carry most of Stoutland's stat budget. Sp. Atk's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 3 Attack EVs. Follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
It rescues people stranded by blizzards in the mountains. Its shaggy fur shields it from the cold.
Being wrapped in its long fur is so comfortable that a person would be fine even overnight on a wintry mountain.
Stoutland Weakness
Stoutland is weak to Fighting. On the flip side, it's immune to Ghost-type moves entirely. With 85 HP and balanced defenses, Stoutland can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

Stoutland Guide
In X & Y, Intimidate changes the entire equation for Stoutland. The 500 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as an attacker. Superpower with Choice Band is the standard set.
In X & Y, Stoutland's biggest threats include Lucario (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.
Intimidate is what you want on Stoutland. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Sand Rush, Scrappy) work on paper but Intimidate is what makes Stoutland worth using.
Base 80 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Stoutland is a physical attacker with base 110 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as an attacker.
In X & Y, the best way to handle Stoutland: Faster attackers outpace it. Anything with a super-effective STAB move and decent speed can revenge kill.
