Being wrapped in its long fur is so comfortable that a person would be fine even overnight on a wintry mountain.

Stoutland Weakness

Stoutland is weak to Fighting. On the flip side, it's immune to Ghost-type moves entirely. With 85 HP and balanced defenses, Stoutland can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

Black 2 & White 2 Stoutland Best Moveset

Return is the safe click most turns. Choice Band locks Stoutland into it but rewards with raw power at the cost of move flexibility. Jolly nature and max Attack and Speed EVs maximize that first hit. Intimidate helps on the margins.

Stoutland Guide

  • In Black 2 & White 2, Intimidate changes the entire equation for Stoutland. The 490 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as an attacker. Return with Choice Band is the standard set.

  • In Black 2 & White 2, Stoutland's biggest threats include Lucario (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Intimidate is what you want on Stoutland. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Sand Rush, Scrappy) work on paper but Intimidate is what makes Stoutland worth using.

  • Base 80 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Stoutland is a physical attacker with base 100 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as an attacker.

  • In Black 2 & White 2, the best way to handle Stoutland: Faster attackers outpace it. Anything with a super-effective STAB move and decent speed can revenge kill.

Game Availability

Stoutland joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 7 titles so far. With 6 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
