Sp. Atk and Sp. Def carry most of Smoochum's stat budget. Defense's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 1 Sp. Atk stat exp. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
The sensitivity of its lips develops most quickly. It uses them to try to identify unknown objects.

Type-wise, Smoochum takes extra damage from Fire, Bug, Rock, Ghost, Dark, and Steel. Smoochum's special bulk (base 65 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
