Although this Pokémon isn’t very strong, its body is coated in a caustic slime that can melt through anything, so predators steer clear of it.

Sliggoo Weakness

Ice, Dragon, and Fairy moves hit Sliggoo for super-effective damage. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Sap Sipper grants an additional Grass immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Sliggoo Guide

  • In Sword & Shield, Sliggoo isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Goodra to unlock its full potential. At 452 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.

  • In Sword & Shield, watch for Lapras (Ice), Kingdra (Dragon), and Sylveon (Fairy) when using Sliggoo. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB.

  • In Sword & Shield, Goomy evolves into Sliggoo at level 40. Sliggoo evolves into Goodra at level 50. Sliggoo is a middle-stage evolution in the Goomy line.

  • In Sword & Shield, Run Sap Sipper on Sliggoo. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Sliggoo also gets Hydration and Gooey, but they don't compare.

  • In Sword & Shield, Sliggoo fills the balanced role. It's a mixed attacker with base 75 Attack and 83 Sp. Atk. At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

Game Availability

Sliggoo first appeared in X & Y and spans 8 games across 5 generations. It later gained a Hisuian form in Generation 8, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
