Stats & Training
Attack leads and Defense gets almost nothing. That's Sharpedo's stat line in a nutshell. 3 stats sit in respectable range, but the spread is brutal. Moderately hard to find and yields 2 Attack EVs.
As soon as it catches the scent of prey, Sharpedo will jet seawater from its backside, hurtling toward the target to attack at 75 mph.
This Pokémon is known as the Bully of the Sea. Any ship entering the waters Sharpedo calls home will be attacked—no exceptions.
Sharpedo Weakness
Sharpedo's Water/Dark typing leaves it vulnerable to Electric, Grass, Fighting, Bug, and Fairy. It shrugs off Psychic-type attacks completely. With 6 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Sharpedo leans offensive (base 120 Atk) rather than trying to tank its weaknesses.

Sword & Shield Evolution
Evolved from Carvanha. Sharpedo is the final form in this two-stage line. A decent partner pool for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time. Attack grew the most through evolution (+30 over Carvanha), and Sharpedo peaks at 460 total stats. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed with Sharpedo to get Carvanha eggs easily using 22 partners from the Water2 egg group. Notable egg moves include Ancient Power, Destiny Bond, Double-Edge and 2 more.
Sword & Shield Sharpedo Best Moveset
Speed Boost isn't flashy, but it matters. Combined with Life Orb for extra damage on every hit for a health trade and max Attack and Speed EVs, Sharpedo fills the physical attacker slot reliably. Adamant nature finishes the spread.

Moves
The natural movepool does the job, but Ancient Power and Destiny Bond from the egg pool give Sharpedo something extra. Pair those with Hydro Pump and Surf for STAB and coverage across 9 types for reach, and the kit fills out nicely.

Sharpedo Guide
In Sword & Shield, Speed Boost changes the entire equation for Sharpedo. The 460 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a cannon. Crunch with Life Orb is the standard set.
Mega Evolution isn't available in Sword & Shield, but Sharpedo does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Sharpedo hits 560 BST.
Speed Boost is what you want on Sharpedo. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Rough Skin) work on paper but Speed Boost is what makes Sharpedo worth using.
Base 95 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Sharpedo is a physical attacker with base 120 Attack. Defensively? Fragile, can't afford to take many hits. Best used as a cannon.
Game Availability
Since debuting in Ruby & Sapphire, Sharpedo has appeared in 15 titles over 8 generations. Along the way, it received a Mega form in Generation 7, keeping it relevant across different competitive metas.
