Stats & Training
Nothing fancy in Raticate's spread. It leans physical with Sp. Def out front. And you'll get 2 Speed EVs per KO for it. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
It forms a group of Rattata, which it assumes command of. Each group has its own territory, and disputes over food happen often.
This gourmet Pokémon is particular about the taste and freshness of its food. Restaurants where Raticate live have a good reputation.
Raticate Weakness
Raticate is weak to Fighting, Bug, and Fairy. Watch out for Fighting attacks, those deal 4x damage. On the flip side, it's immune to Psychic and Ghost-type moves entirely. Thick Fat reduces Fire/Ice damage, further improving the defensive spread. With 75 HP and balanced defenses, Raticate can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

How to Evolve
Sun & Moon Raticate Best Moveset
Raticate keeps momentum with U-turn, switching out after dealing damage or scouting. Flame Orb gives it self-burn for Guts activation, max Attack and Speed EVs let it hit hard on the way out, and the remaining moves prevents dead turns.

Most of Raticate's flexibility comes from TMs. Same-type output runs through Giga Impact and Hyper Beam, but Ice and Grass and the rest of the TM pool push it from predictable to genuinely threatening.
