Stats & Training
Pyukumuku's all-in on Defense at the expense of Speed. The physical lean is obvious from the bars. Yields 2 Sp. Def EVs and follows a fast 800K XP curve.
The tradition known as Pyukumuku chucking started from the custom of throwing Pyukumuku back into the sea after they wash onshore.
Its entire body is covered in its own slime. If you accidentally step on one, you’ll slip, and it will get mad and smack you!
Pyukumuku Weakness
Pyukumuku's Water typing leaves it vulnerable to Electric and Grass. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Pyukumuku's overall bulk (55/130/130) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

Pyukumuku Guide
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, watch for Rotom (Electric) and Breloom (Grass) when using Pyukumuku. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. At base 5 Speed, Pyukumuku won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
For Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, it depends on your team. Pyukumuku at 410 BST isn't a powerhouse, but the Water coverage might be exactly what you're missing.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Don't let Pyukumuku's 410 base stat total fool you. Unaware is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier as a support. Block with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Run Unaware on Pyukumuku. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Pyukumuku also gets Innards Out, but they don't compare.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Water typing gives Pyukumuku 4 resistances. Base 130 Defense is the standout stat. 410 BST gives it a workable foundation.
Game Availability
Introduced in Sun & Moon, Pyukumuku has appeared in 3 games across 4 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
