Stats & Training
Natu's spread isn't flashy. Sp. Atk leads, HP trails, 0 stats clear the bar. Common in the wild and worth 1 Sp. Atk stat exp, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
It is extremely good at climbing tree trunks and likes to eat the new sprouts on the trees.
Natu Weakness
Electric, Ice, Rock, Ghost, and Dark moves hit Natu for super-effective damage. The upside? Ground-type moves can't touch it at all.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Electric, Ice, Rock, Ghost, Dark |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Grass, Psychic |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Fighting |
| 0x (Immune) | Ground |
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
- Special stat split into Sp.Atk and Sp.Def

Crystal Evolution
Natu evolves into Xatu. It's a two-stage chain with the method shown below. A decent partner pool for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time. The evolved forms gain up to 150 total stats over Natu. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
Breeding
Breed Natu easily with 19 breeding partners from the Flying egg group. Pass egg moves like Drill Peck, Feint Attack, Haze and 2 more to offspring.

Best Build
Gen 2 build content has limited support (no abilities).
Try selecting a different game/generation filter, or check back later.
Moves
Don't skip the egg moves. Natu picks up Drill Peck and Feint Attack only through breeding, and both fill gaps the natural movepool can't. STAB runs through Future Sight and Dream Eater while Ghost and Normal coverage and more adds range.

Natu Guide
Get Natu to Xatu at level 25. At 320 BST, Natu is just the starting point.
Level 25 gets you Xatu. Not the fastest evolution, so consider Exp. Share or route grinding to speed it up.
In Crystal, Natu does the job early-game if you need a Psychic/Flying type on your team. Evolve it into Xatu before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.
You can find Natu in Crystal. The Locations section has the full breakdown of routes and encounter details. It also appears in 15 other games across the series.
Game Availability
