Stats & Training
Klang's spread isn't flashy. Defense leads, Speed trails, 3 stats clear the bar. Moderately hard to find and worth 2 Defense EVs, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
By changing the direction in which it rotates, it communicates its feelings to others. When angry, it rotates faster.
A minigear and big gear comprise its body. If the minigear it launches at a foe doesn’t return, it will die.
Klang Weakness
Klang is weak to Fire, Fighting, and Ground. On the flip side, it's immune to Poison-type moves entirely. 10 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. With 60 HP and balanced defenses, Klang can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Fighting, Ground |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Normal, Grass, Ice, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Dragon, Steel, Fairy |
| 0x (Immune) | Poison |
In X & Y, Volcanion can KO Klang with Flamethrower (130-153%). Hitmontop threatens a KO with Close Combat (139-164%). Gastrodon deals 42-49% with Scald.

X & Y Evolution
Klang is the middle stage between Klink and Klinklang. It's a three-stage line with one more evolution to go. For breeding, average hatch time with no compatible partners via one egg group. Attack has grown the most so far (+25), but there's still another 80 stats to gain in the final evolution. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.

How to Get Klang in X & Y
Klang can't be caught in X & Y. Transfer Klink from Black, Black 2, or Sword and evolve through the 2-stage line to get it. The step cards below map the full chain.
Klang Guide
In X & Y, Klang isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Klinklang to unlock its full potential. At 440 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
Plus is the go-to ability for Klang. It increases Special Attack to 1.5× when a friendly Pokémon has plus or minus. Its hidden ability Clear Body can work in specific setups. Minus is the other option. Pick based on what your team needs.
In X & Y, Klang fills the balanced role. It's a mixed attacker with base 80 Attack and 70 Sp. Atk. Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Game Availability
Introduced in Black & White, Klang has appeared in 7 games across 6 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
