Stats & Training
Attack leads and Speed gets almost nothing. That's Gigalith's stat line in a nutshell. 3 stats sit in respectable range, but the spread is brutal. Tough to catch and yields 3 Attack EVs.
Compressing the energy from its internal core lets it fire off an attack capable of blowing away a mountain.
The solar energy absorbed by its body’s orange crystals is magnified internally and fired from its mouth.
Gigalith Weakness
Type-wise, Gigalith takes extra damage from Water, Grass, Fighting, Ground, and Steel. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Gigalith's physical bulk (base 130 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Water, Grass, Fighting, Ground, Steel |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Normal, Fire, Poison, Flying |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
In Black & White, Excadrill's Earthquake hits Gigalith for 75-88%. Politoed deals 59-70% with Scald.

Gigalith Guide
In Black & White, Sand Stream changes the entire equation for Gigalith. The 505 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a wallbreaker. Earthquake with Custapberry is the standard set.
In Black & White, Gigalith's biggest threats include Swampert (Water), Roserade (Grass), and Lucario (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Ground and Steel-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. At base 25 Speed, Gigalith won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Sand Stream is what you want on Gigalith. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Sturdy, Sand Force) work on paper but Sand Stream is what makes Gigalith worth using. On wall sets, Sand Stream pairs with Gigalith's base 130 Defense to absorb physical hits on the switch.
Base 25 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Gigalith is a physical attacker with base 135 Attack. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a wallbreaker.
For Black & White, the core moveset is Earthquake, Stealth Rock, Explosion, and Rock Blast. Earthquake leads at 24% usage. This set covers the wallbreaker role with a mix of damage and utility.
