Stats & Training
Haxorus's all-in on Attack at the expense of Sp. Atk. The physical lean is obvious from the bars. Yields 3 Attack EVs and follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
They are kind but can be relentless when defending territory. They challenge foes with tusks that can cut steel.
Their sturdy tusks will stay sharp even if used to cut steel beams. These Pokémon are covered in hard armor.
Haxorus Weakness
Haxorus is weak to Ice and Dragon. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. With 76 HP and balanced defenses, Haxorus can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Ice, Dragon |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Water, Electric, Grass |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
In Black & White, Tyranitar's Crunch hits Haxorus for 49-58%. Chandelure deals 65-76% with Shadow Ball.

Black & White Evolution
Haxorus is the final form in a three-stage chain from Axew through Fraxure. Breeding this form produces Axew eggs (takes forever to hatch). Evolving from Axew gave Haxorus the biggest boost in Attack (+60), bringing the total to 540 stats. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed with Haxorus to get Axew eggs easily using 39 partners from the Dragon and Monster egg groups. Notable egg moves include Counter, Dragon Pulse, Endeavor and 7 more.
Black & White Haxorus Best Moveset
Outrage is the main STAB option after a Dragon Dance boost. Lum Berry gives Haxorus one-time status cleanse to survive the setup turn, and max Attack and Speed EVs make the boosted hits count. Ground and Fighting coverage catches resists.

Haxorus Guide
In Black & White, Don't let Haxorus's 540 base stat total fool you. Mold Breaker is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it B-Tier as a wallbreaker. Earthquake with Lum Berry is the standard set.
In Black & White, Run Mold Breaker on Haxorus. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Haxorus also gets Rivalry and Unnerve, but they don't compare.
In Black & White, Haxorus fills the wallbreaker role. It's a physical attacker with base 147 Attack. Base 97 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Black & White, the best way to handle Haxorus: Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Special attackers bypass its physical bulk.
Game Availability
Introduced in Black & White, Haxorus has appeared in 8 games across 6 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
