Crystal

Fearow Weakness

Type-wise, Fearow takes extra damage from Electric, Ice, and Rock. Ground and Ghost moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. At base 100 Speed, Fearow outspeeds most threats and doesn't need to tank what it can outrun.

Breeding's the move. False Swipe and Feint Attack give Fearow options it can't learn any other way, and Dark and Ground coverage already covers a decent range on top of Hyper Beam and Fly. The egg moves push it further.

Fearow Guide

  • In Crystal, Fearow's biggest threats include Jolteon (Electric), Cloyster (Ice), and Golem (Rock), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Fearow's base 100 Speed lets it outpace many threats and strike first, which matters more than trying to tank hits.

  • In Crystal, Spearow evolves into Fearow at level 20. Fearow is the fully evolved form. It sits at 442 BST in its evolved form.

  • In Crystal, Fearow can work for a story run. 442 BST is average, but Normal/Flying typing fills a niche depending on your team composition.

  • For Crystal, we rate Fearow C-Tier: a niche pick in Crystal's meta. At 442 BST, it fits the pivot role. Drill Peck with Leftovers is the standard set.

  • Fearow's best stat is Speed at base 100. Normal/Flying gives decent defensive coverage with 4 resistances.

Game Availability

One of the original 151, Fearow has appeared in 18 games — most mainline games. From Red & Blue through the latest titles, it's rarely been left out of a regional Pokedex.
