Stats & Training
Defense leads and HP gets almost nothing. That's Carbink's stat line in a nutshell. 2 stats sit in respectable range, but the spread is brutal. Moderately hard to find and yields 2 Defense and Sp. Def EVs.
When beset by attackers, Carbink wipes them all out by firing high-energy beams from the gems embedded in its body.
It’s said that somewhere in the world, there’s a mineral vein housing a large pack of slumbering Carbink. It’s also said that this pack has a queen.
Carbink Weakness
Carbink's Rock/Fairy typing leaves it vulnerable to Steel, Water, Grass, and Ground. Steel hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. It shrugs off Dragon-type attacks completely. 5 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Carbink's overall bulk (50/150/150) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

Sword & Shield Evolution
Breeding is the whole story for Carbink. No compatible partners through two egg groups, eggs are average hatch time, and you won't need to evolve anything. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Carbink is genderless and can only breed with Ditto. Part of the Fairy and Mineral egg groups.
Sword & Shield Carbink Best Moveset
Sturdy isn't flashy, but it matters. Combined with Mental Herb for one-time Taunt or Encore immunity and max HP and Sp. Def EVs, Carbink fills the defensive wall slot reliably. Sassy nature finishes the spread.

Carbink Guide
For Sword & Shield, we rate Carbink B-Tier: a solid option in Sword & Shield for the right team. At 500 BST, the stats are spread pretty evenly. Skillswap with Mental Herb is the standard set.
In Sword & Shield, watch for Steelix (Steel), Milotic (Water), and Venusaur (Grass) when using Carbink. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Steelix is the most dangerous since Steel moves deal 4x damage. Ground-type attackers are also a problem. Carbink has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Clear Body prevents stats from being lowered by other Pokémon. That's the one you want on Carbink. Sturdy is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.
Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Carbink is a special attacker with base 50 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits.
For Sword & Shield, Carbink has answers, but so do you. Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Steel, Water, and Grass-type attackers hit hardest.
