Black 2 & White 2 Banette Best Moveset

The slow wall spread is where Banette earns its spot. Leftovers for passive recovery each turn, Sassy nature for the right lean, and Rest handles sustain. Cursedbody does the rest without needing a move slot.

The egg pool carries weight here. Astonish and Confuse Ray aren't available any other way for Banette, and they meaningfully change what it threatens. Stack those on top of Shadow Ball and Shadow Claw for solid options.

Banette Guide

  • In Black 2 & White 2, Banette has a 455 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a niche pick in Black 2 & White 2's meta. It works best as a support. Cottonguard with Leftovers is the standard set.

  • Mega Evolution isn't available in Black 2 & White 2, but Banette does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Banette hits 555 BST.

  • In Black 2 & White 2, Banette's biggest threats include Gengar (Ghost) and Houndoom (Dark), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Insomnia is the go-to ability for Banette. It prevents sleep. Its hidden ability Cursed Body can work in specific setups. Frisk is the other option. Pick based on what your team needs.

  • In Black 2 & White 2, Banette fills the support role. It's leaning toward the physical side (base 115 Attack). At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often.

Game Availability

Banette first appeared in Ruby & Sapphire and spans 15 games across 8 generations. It later gained a Mega form in Generation 7, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
