Stats & Training
The stat bars tell the story: Sp. Def carries everything and Speed's dead weight. But this Water Bubble Pokemon still yields 2 Sp. Def EVs per fight on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
It launches water bubbles with its legs, drowning prey within the bubbles. This Pokémon can then take its time to savor its meal.
It acts as a caretaker for Dewpider, putting them inside its bubble and letting them eat any leftover food.
Araquanid Weakness
Araquanid is weak to Electric, Flying, and Rock. The Water/Bug typing picks up 5 resistances to work with. Water Absorb grants an additional Water immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Araquanid's special bulk (base 132 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Scarlet & Violet Evolution
Araquanid is what Dewpider becomes. Breed it for Dewpider eggs (quick to hatch). A decent partner pool for breeding via two egg groups. Eggs are quick to hatch. The evolution from Dewpider pushed Araquanid to 454 total stats. Sp.Def saw the largest single gain at +60. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Scarlet & Violet Araquanid Best Moveset
Bulk and offense in one package. Araquanid runs Leftovers for passive recovery each turn with a Adamant nature, so it survives long enough to threaten with Liquidation. Flexible EVs and Normal coverage make it hard to safely switch into.

Moves
Most of Araquanid's flexibility comes from TMs. Same-type output runs through Hydro Pump and Bug Buzz, but Dark and Normal and the rest of the TM pool push it from predictable to genuinely threatening.

How to Get Araquanid in Scarlet & Violet
Araquanid isn't available in the wild in Scarlet & Violet. Start by transferring Dewpider from Sun, Ultra Sun, or Sword. The evolution path from Dewpider to Araquanid is covered in the steps below.
Araquanid Guide
In Scarlet & Violet, Araquanid looks average on paper at 454 BST. But Water Absorb is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. B-Tier on our tier list. Liquidation with Leftovers is the standard set.
Araquanid gets Water Absorb and Water Bubble. But Water Absorb is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
Araquanid is a physical attacker with base 70 Attack. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 42 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.
In Scarlet & Violet, Water Absorb is the hidden ability. It absorbs water moves, healing for 1/4 max HP. Worth hunting for if you want Araquanid to compete at a higher level.
Game Availability
Since Sun & Moon, Araquanid has been obtainable in 4 games. A Generation 7 debut means a shorter history, but Araquanid has appeared steadily across every generation since.
