ALL SCARLET & VIOLET POKEMON

Scarlet and Violet's Paldea Pokedex is the first in a fully open-world game. Terastallization lets any Pokemon swap to any type mid-battle, which flips matchups on their head. Paradox Pokemon are version-exclusive variants from the ancient past (Scarlet) or far future (Violet). Three storylines run in parallel. DLC adds the Kitakami and Blueberry Academy rosters. Filter by type or stats to explore the full dex.

How to access additional Pokemon in Scarlet & Violet

Paldea's dex covers 400 Pokemon in a fully open world. Mass Outbreaks and Tera Raid Battles are the main dex-filling tools. Five-star and six-star raids often feature Pokemon with Hidden Abilities that don't appear in the overworld.

The Teal Mask DLC (Kitakami) adds 200 Pokemon, and The Indigo Disk (Blueberry Academy) adds 243. Blueberry Quests also unlock starters from past generations. Pokemon HOME fills in anything else coded into the game data.

FAQ

  • The base game has around 400. DLC adds The Teal Mask (Kitakami) and The Indigo Disk (Blueberry Academy), bringing the total to about 733. Not every past Pokemon made the cut, but it's a bigger roster than Sword and Shield.

  • Terastallization lets any Pokemon change to any single type mid-battle. Each Pokemon has a Tera Type that can differ from its regular type. A Water-type Pokemon with a Ground Tera Type gains Ground STAB when Terastallized. You can use it once per visit to a Pokemon Center. It reshuffles matchups in ways no previous gimmick has.

  • Fuecoco's Skeledirge (Fire/Ghost) is the strongest. Unaware ignores stat boosts, it has solid bulk, and Fire/Ghost is a great typing. Quaxly's Quaquaval (Water/Fighting) snowballs with Moxie after each KO. Sprigatito's Meowscarada has the speed but can't take a hit.

  • Paradox Pokemon are version-exclusive variants of existing species. Scarlet gets ancient forms (past): Great Tusk (ancient Donphan), Flutter Mane (ancient Misdreavus). Violet gets future forms: Iron Treads (future Donphan), Iron Valiant (future Gardevoir/Gallade). They have different types and stats from their base forms.

  • Generation 9, released in November 2022 for the Nintendo Switch. First fully open-world mainline game with three storylines (Victory Road, Path of Legends, Starfall Street) you can tackle in any order. Introduced Terastallization and Paradox Pokemon.

  • Victory Road is the gym challenge (8 gyms, Elite Four, Champion). Path of Legends has you finding Herba Mystica by battling Titan Pokemon. Starfall Street has you raiding Team Star bases. You can do them in any order since the world is open. After clearing all three, a final storyline unlocks in Area Zero.
