Hypno Evolutions
Evolved from Drowzee. Hypno is the final form in this two-stage line. A decent partner pool for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time. Sp.Atk grew the most through evolution (+30 over Drowzee), and Hypno peaks at 483 total stats. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed with Hypno to get Drowzee eggs easily using 28 partners from the Humanshape egg group. Notable egg moves include Assist, Barrier, Fire Punch and 3 more.
E Hypno Best Moveset
Hypno answers sleep-dependent strategies completely, with AbilityInsomnia making it immune to MoveSpore and MoveSleep Powder. The moveset pairs this with 115 Sp. Def for special tanking and MoveThunder Wave to cripple faster threats. Teams facing Breloom or other sleep leads value Hypno's guaranteed counterplay.

Moves List
Don't skip the egg moves. Hypno picks up Assist and Barrier only through breeding, and both fill gaps the natural movepool can't. STAB runs through Future Sight and Dream Eater while coverage across 7 types adds range.

Each move's competitive rank in RankedBoost's system. TM, Egg, and Tutor sort by tier by default (best first). On Level-Up, click the Tier header to do the same.

The arcing movement and glitter of the pendulum in a HYPNO’s hand lull the foe into deep hypnosis. While searching for prey, it polishes the pendulum.
Hypno Emerald Guide
For Emerald, we rate Hypno C-Tier: a niche pick in Emerald's meta. At 483 BST, it fits the support role. Baton Pass with Leftovers is the standard set.
Insomnia prevents sleep. That's the one you want on Hypno. Forewarn works too if your team needs something different.
At base 67 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Hypno is a special attacker with base 73 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a support.
In Emerald, run Baton Pass, Calm Mind, Psychic, and Thunder Wave on Hypno. Baton Pass is the most common pick at 0% usage. Psychic provides reliable STAB damage.
