Pokedex Entry

Because its tusks don’t grow back once they break, this Pokémon apparently won’t use them unless truly necessary.

Fraxure uses its thick tusks to neatly cut prey into two portions—one to eat now and one to save for later.

Fraxure Scarlet & Violet Guide

  • At 410 BST, Fraxure is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Haxorus before bringing it to any serious fight.

  • In Scarlet & Violet, watch for Cloyster (Ice), Salamence (Dragon), and Gardevoir (Fairy) when using Fraxure. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB.

  • Fraxure gets Mold Breaker, Rivalry, and Unnerve. But Mold Breaker is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • Fraxure is a mixed attacker with base 117 Attack and 40 Sp. Atk. Speed tells the real story. At base 67 Speed, it won't be moving first often. Fits the cannon role.

  • In Scarlet & Violet, For a casual playthrough, Fraxure works as a placeholder. Dragon coverage is useful early. The real payoff is Haxorus. That's where the stats start mattering.

Game Availability

Since Black & White, Fraxure has been obtainable in 8 games. A Generation 5 debut means a shorter history, but Fraxure has appeared steadily across every generation since.
