Dipplin Weakness
Dipplin's Grass/Dragon typing leaves it vulnerable to Ice, Poison, Flying, Bug, Dragon, and Fairy. Ice hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Dipplin's physical bulk (base 110 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.
| Damage | Types |

| 4x (Critical) | Ice |
| 2x (Weak) | Poison, Flying, Bug, Dragon, Fairy |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Ground |

Dipplin Scarlet & Violet Guide
In Scarlet & Violet, Dipplin isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Hydrapple to unlock its full potential. At 485 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
In Scarlet & Violet, watch for Weavile (Ice), Roserade (Poison), and Braviary (Flying) when using Dipplin. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Weavile is the most dangerous since Ice moves deal 4x damage. Bug, Dragon, and Fairy-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. At base 40 Speed, Dipplin won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Supersweet Syrup once per battle, when a Pokémon with Supersweet Syrup enters the battle, it lowers the evasion stat of all adjacent opponents by one stage. That's the one you want on Dipplin. Sticky Hold is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Gluttony works too if your team needs something different.
In Scarlet & Violet, Dipplin fills the trick room role. It's a mixed attacker with base 80 Attack and 95 Sp. Atk. Base 40 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Scarlet & Violet, Dipplin does the job early-game if you need a Grass/Dragon type on your team. Evolve it into Hydrapple before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.
Game Availability
Introduced in Scarlet & Violet, Dipplin has appeared in 1 games across 2 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
