Aurorus Weakness
Aurorus's Rock/Ice typing leaves it vulnerable to Fighting, Steel, Water, Grass, Ground, and Rock. Fighting and Steel hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Aurorus's overall bulk (123/72/92) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

Aurorus Evolutions
Aurorus is the evolved form of Amaura. Breeding produces Amaura eggs, and they're slow to hatch. Evolving from Amaura gave Aurorus the biggest boost in HP (+46), bringing the total to 521 stats. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed with Aurorus to get Amaura eggs using 64 partners from the Monster egg group.
SwSh Aurorus Best Moveset
AbilityRefrigerate converts Normal moves into Ice with TermStab bonus, and 99 Sp. Atk with 123 HP gives decent power and bulk. But Rock/Ice typing brings 4x weaknesses to Fighting and Steel plus five others. D-tier because the typing invites too many common super-effective hits despite the moveset's offensive potential.

Moves List
Without TMs, Aurorus's movepool is bare bones. With them, you get coverage across 7 types on top of Meteor Beam and Blizzard for STAB. The natural kit handles basics, but TMs are doing the real work.

Base Stats
Aurorus was restored from a fossil. It’s said that when this Pokémon howls, auroras appear in the night sky.
When gripped by rage, Aurorus will emanate freezing air, covering everything around it in ice.
Aurorus Sword & Shield Guide
In Sword & Shield, Don't let Aurorus's 521 base stat total fool you. Snow Warning is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier. Blizzard with Focus Sash is the standard set.
In Sword & Shield, watch for Conkeldurr (Fighting), Lucario (Steel), and Greninja (Water) when using Aurorus. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Conkeldurr is the most dangerous since Fighting moves deal 4x damage. Grass, Ground, and Rock-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
In Sword & Shield, Run Snow Warning on Aurorus. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Aurorus also gets Refrigerate, but they don't compare.
In Sword & Shield, Aurorus fills the balanced role. It's a special attacker with base 99 Sp. Atk. At base 58 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's tanky enough to absorb a few hits.
In Sword & Shield, run Blizzard, Earthpower, Stealth Rock, and Encore on Aurorus. Blizzard is the most common pick at 0% usage. Blizzard provides reliable STAB damage.
Game Availability
Introduced in X & Y, Aurorus has appeared in 6 games across 5 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
